VALERIE JOHNSON TRIMARCHI

Trimarchi is an illustrator, painter, and muralist who works in acrylics, wood and watercolor. Her work has been featured in children's education journals, magazines, editorial publications, including her little book, BREATHE, and her murals, numbering more than 50, can be seen at Cedars Sinai Ambulatory Care Center, Huntington Medical Foundation, St. Anastasia School, Hastings Ranch Animal Hospital, and homes and businesses throughout California. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Trimarchi's paintings have been shown in several solo and group shows in California and forms a part of numerous private and corporate collections.

Design director Charlie Hess said that Trimarchi has a "fantastic sense of color, comparable to Milton Avery and others like him. The color is the biggest appeal, but I also love her wide-eyed, child-like openness. There's a real playfulness to her work," he added. That playfulness is evident in Trimarchi's vibrant use of color which manages to capture all the energy and exuberance of her subjects whether it be a landscape, crowd, or gathering of people at the beach, park or a restaurant.

When Trimarchi is not in her studio in Los Angeles, she can be found working with young people to whom for the past twenty years she has taught art at local independent schools. Beloved by her students, Trimarchi's enthusiastic and magnanimous expression of joy is evident in both person and project.

Represent by Art Works Fine Art Publishing and Tirage Gallery, Trimarchi lives in Los Angeles with her family.
